Welcome letter from the elf

Hello everyone!

I have moved in with you. My name is Elf and I come from the forest, where I have been helping Father Christmas read wish lists all autumn. This December I am going to live here, all the way until Christmas Eve.

At night, while you are asleep, I get up to things. Sometimes it is a little mischief and sometimes something kind. In the morning you get to find out what I did.

There are three things you need to know about me:

  1. You may look at me as much as you like, but do not touch me. That makes me lose my elf magic.
  2. I only move when nobody is watching.
  3. Every evening I tell Father Christmas how things are going here. Mostly the kind things.

Now I am going to rest a little after the long journey. See you in the morning!

How to use the letter

Leave the letter beside the elf on the evening before it arrives, once the children are asleep. It is the first thing they find, so it sets the rules for the whole of December.

Print on ordinary A4. Without names it says “Hello everyone!” and “My name is Elf”, so the letter also works if the elf has no name yet.
