New to elf antics? Here is how it works

How it works

Five minutes in the evening, a new antic every morning.

1

Look at today’s antic

Every day has an antic you can do with things you already have at home.

2

Set it up in five minutes

Two or three steps once the children are asleep. Put the day’s card next to the elf.

3

Gather in the morning

The whole family finds the elf, reads the card together and wonders what will happen tomorrow.

What you get

From the first of December to Christmas Eve.

The elf moves in on 1 December and goes home on Christmas Eve. In between, something new happens every night.

1–7 December

The elf moves in

A welcome letter and the first antics.

8–14 December

The mischief grows

Flour angels, a zip line and St Lucia.

15–21 December

Full speed

Snowball fights and kind notes.

22–24 December

The countdown

The bags are packed and the elf says goodbye.

The moment you remember

It isn’t the antic itself that matters, but the morning after: when the whole family searches, laughs and reads the elf’s card together. Those are the December mornings children talk about when they are grown up. The antics work with an elf doll, a little gnome by an elf door or a soft toy in a hat.

  • Nothing to buy: everything is done with things you have at home.
  • A card from the elf for every day, to print or show on a phone.
  • A welcome letter on 1 December and a farewell letter on Christmas Eve.

Free: an elf door to print

Does the elf have somewhere to live? Here are nine doors, also to colour in, five dot-to-dots and accessories, in three sizes. Print one, cut it out and put it up by the skirting board.

New for Christmas

The Christmas dice game on a tablet

The gift exchange with a die you may know: a six takes a gift, and in the second round you steal against the clock. The screen keeps track of the turn, the gifts and the time, and now and then the elf draws a cheeky card. The whole game comes with Busnissen.

Less than coffee and a bun at a café.

Questions about the elf

Do I need a particular elf doll?

No. Any small elf, gnome or soft toy works.

How do I get the antics?

Right after payment you get an email with all 24 antics and the cards as a PDF, plus a link where you can read them online.

Do I need a printer?

No. You can read the antics on your phone, and the cards from the elf can be shown across the whole screen of a phone or tablet instead of being printed.

We are starting late – does it still work?

Yes. Start with the welcome letter on any day and skip the antics you don’t have time for.

Can I buy it for someone else, such as my grandchildren?

Yes. Enter your own email address when you buy, and you get the email with all the antics and cards and can pass it on. The link in the email works for whoever has it.
